How do I know when it's time?
Deciding when to say goodbye is never easy. You may want to consider euthanasia if your pet's quality of life has declined - such as when they are experiencing more pain than comfort, no longer enjoying the things they once did, or having more bad days than good. Our veterinary team is here to help guide you through this decision with honesty, compassion, and support.
What happens during euthanasia?
Euthanasia is a peaceful, painless process. After discussing your wishes, a sedative is given to help your pet relax. Once they are comfortable, a final medication is administered that allows them to pass gently and quickly. You may choose to stay with your pet throughout the process or say goodbye beforehand - whichever feels right for you.
Can my family be present?
Yes. We welcome family members to be present and encourage you to do what feels most comfortable. This is a very personal experience, and we support whatever choice is best for you and your loved ones.
Can I schedule a quality-of-life consultation?
Absolutely. We encourage appointments to discuss your pet's quality of life, prognosis, and care options before making any decisions. We are here to answer your questions and support you every step of the way.
What does your clinic offer for this visit?
We strive to provide a calm, private, and supportive environment. You'll have a quiet room where you can spend time with your pet, and we encourage you to bring favorite blankets, toys, or treats. Our team will move at your pace and ensure your pet is treated with dignity and compassion throughout the visit.
Do you offer at-home euthanasia?
At-home euthanasia may be available on a case-by-case basis depending on location and scheduling. If this is something you're interested in, please contact us to discuss options. If we are unable to accommodate, we are happy to help connect you with trusted local providers.
