FAQ:
Can you take my dog and train him for me?
Though possible, this will not solve your problems with your dog. Most of the instruction and training is for you - the owner. You are the one that lives with your dog and interacts with him on a daily basis. You are the one that also needs to develop effective communication and positive interactions with your dog daily. If we took your dog and trained him, chances are he would completely regress once back in your home. We will work with you (as a team effort) to humanely and effectively train your dog and solve your current behavior problems.
How many private lessons will I need?
This depends on the specific issues you are having. Most often a consult is needed prior to beginning actual training. This involves taking a detailed behavioral history, assessing your goals and expected outcome, educating you on learning theory and training methods, basic management for your dog, as well as clicker training techniques. This is usually covered in the first private session. We will leave you with some beginning exercises to begin with your dog (conditioning the clicker, basic foundation skills necessary). We will then schedule the next training session based on your availability (about 1-2 weeks later). We will assess additional training sessions as needed.
Can my kids get involved with training or attend the private session?
Not only is that welcome, it is strongly recommended. The more consistent the entire family is with your dog, the better success he will have. If your entire family is not able to attend the lessons, you will be able to get them up to speed with the detailed handouts that are provided at each session.
Where are the private lessons held?
Private Lessons are most commonly held at your home for your convenience. We can also hold private lessons at the clinic or at a neutral outside location (especially if we are working on certain problem with leash walking/reactivity to other dogs). For clients living outside of a five mile radius of the clinic, 50 cents per mile fee will be assessed accordingly.

Session Fee: $60/Hour
